ENJOY THE ISLANDS JOINING A SMALL GROUP
GALAPAGOS HIGHLIGHT
The Galapagos Islands are famous for their incredible wildlife, and many people think that a cruise is the only way to visit them.
We offer a island hopping version of a cruise :
– Fixed departure, you join a small group
– Max 16 people per group
– 1 naturalist all tour long
–
Our naturalists will explain you and show you a LOT MORE as if you visit the islands on your own. The history, biology and vulcanology of the islands are eyes opener about our world and being led by a top naturalist of the National Park is a game changer.
But unlike being on a cruise you will be able to :
– Stay in the evening in one of our family owned, cozy hotels
– have the opportunity to explore the ports, choose your own restaurant and dinner time (except 2 included dinners)
– Not be 24/7 with the same people, free time in the evening allows you to have a beer watching the sun set of just take a walk on the beach or on the waterfront
– Get to know life on the islands, the « real » life
– Profit to the local economy (we are based on the islands, our providers are local families, not big companies abroad).

HIGHLIGHT GALAPAGOS
7 Day Tour
San Cristobal
We will pick you up on arrival at the airport of San Cristobal Island and take you to the hotel. After a nice lunch with the guide, you will go get your snorkeling gear and we will depart for a great first snorkeling session. The spot will be selected by the guide according to the tide. Today you will spot your first sea lions (underwater or at the beach), tropical fishes, and surely marine iguanas.
Meals included this day: lunch.
Tip: take a stroll on in the evening along the waterfront and on the piers: spot all the sea lions on the beaches, on the benches and sometimes even in the street!
Difficulty: EASY

San Cristobal
Note: the tour will either take place AM or PM; the second half of the day is free. Lunch is included. In the free time you can take a dip in the nearby beaches in company of the sea lions.
Lobos island is a nearby islet (navigation is approx. 30mn) where you can spot blue footed boobies and frigate birds. You will walk for 1h00/1h30. After the walk your will have a snorkeling session. (Easy session, in quite shallow water). After the snorkeling our last stop will be a beach where we will have a bit of free time (Ochoa beach). Lunch is included on board whether the tour takes place from 8 to 12h30 or from 13h00 to 17h30.
Meals included this day: breakfast and lunch
Tip: you have a half day free this day so here are some suggestions on what you can do: take a cab to explore the Junco lagoon, or hang at Playa Mann the beach local go, where you have to share the beach with the sea lions!
Difficulty: EASY- MEDIUM
Alternative excursion to Lobos Island (subject to availability): if you are looking for a more thrilling experience, you can instead of Lobos island opt for Kicker Rock (Leon Dormido – sleeping Lion), a volcanic formation amid the ocean. There you might spot sharks, rays, turtles and if you are lucky hammerhead sharks! The wall of the rock underwater is also beautiful with plenty of tropical fishes. The tour also includes a stop at a nice beach where we will have time to relax, swim and walk around to take pictures. You will be back around 14h30 in the afternoon.
Extra cost for this tour: + $60

Floreana is the less populated island, it has not grown a lot in the past year and is not very accessible, therefore it is still pristine and authentic. At arrival we will go to the “Peace Asylum where the first colons arrived on the Galapagos. The guide will tell you about the incredible stories about whalers, pirates and the first families that settled there, including the “Baroness”. We will then have lunch. Afterwards you can either join the guide for a snorkel session at Loberia beach or just enjoy the black sand beach in front of the hotel. You can also walk around the small village and enjoy a drink watching the sun set.

If you are usually subject to motion sickness please bring parches or pills (you can also buy pills on Galapagos). From experience, the parches are really effective!
- This is a pretty active tour; you need to be fit (be used to hiking and swimming).

Pitt Point, Seymour if you want to see Albatrosses, land iguanas, red footed boobies…
Weather:
Galapagos can be visited all year round. There are two seasons:
1. The Garua season goes from mid-June to mid-October (more or less): the cold current of Humboldt enters the island so the water is colder (around 17 degrees Celsius, wetsuit is needed), cloudy days and a small drizzle. This actually makes the climate fresher – so don’t expect all sunny days, a cooler weather for the hiking, no need of A/C or fan during the night and almost no mosquitoes. The colder water brings more plankton and more wildlife; this is the best time of the year to spot whales during the boat transports.
2. The Warm season is from November to Mid-May: days can be really hot (more than 30 degrees) and the water is warm due to Panama current entering in the islands marine reserve. No need for a wetsuit, sunny days- this is the perfect season, if you need to warm up from the winter back home! Due to the tropical rains in this season, all the islands are greener.
In between these two seasons would be the transition time where you can have a bit of both seasons!
WE ALWAYS INCLUDE WETSUITS LONG OR SHORT ACCORDING TO WATER TEMPERATURE.
December to May Average Temperatures
Temperature 80ºF to 90ºF (27ºC to 32ºC)
Water temperature 70ºF to 80ºF (21ºC to 26ºC)
June to November Average
Temperature 70ºF to 80ºF (21ºC to 27ºC)
Water temperature 65ºF to 75ºF (18ºC to 24ºC)
About Fees:
The migration card of 20$ – subject to change, is a card that you have to buy in Quito or Guayaquil from where you will begin your journey to the islands. The counter of the “Consejo de Gobierno Galapagos” is easy to find at each airport. They will check your luggage to see if you don’t bring any forbidden food to the islands: fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, and of course animals. They will give you a tourist card that you have to return at the end of your trip.
Once arrived on the islands you will have to immediately pay the National Park fee of 100$ (or 50$ if less than 12 years old). This has to be in CASH and there is NO ATM at the airport, be sure to bring cash with you! After that you get your luggage and look for a SHARKSKY sign with your name on it outside the airport.
About Tips:
Tips are a good reward if you feel your guide went out of his way to make your trip memorable! A usual/reasonable tip is around 10$ – 15$ per person per day for the guide.
